Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act (MGA), Notice of Public Hearing for Road Closure Bylaw 912-P-02-25 was given by the following means:
- Requisite third-party agencies were notified electronically
- Adjacent landowners within 60 metres of the location of the proposed road closure were mailed letters and notifications
- Advertisements will circulate in the Sunny South News for two consecutive weeks prior to the Public Hearing

Public Hearing (current phase)

March 17, 2025

Proposed Bylaw 912-P-02-25 will be given First Reading and will receive Public Hearing at the regularly scheduled Council Meeting on March 17, 2025 at 5:00 pm.

Anyone wishing to make a presentation regarding the proposed Bylaw should, in writing, notify the Senior Planner of the Town of Coaldale no later than 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025. Both written and/or verbal presentations may be made to Council at the Public Hearing.
Alternatively, written comments can be sent by email to hailey.winder@coaldale.ca, dropped off at the Town Office (#200, 1801 20 Avenue, Coaldale), or mailed to the Town Office (PO Box 1236, Coaldale AB, T1M 1N1). Written comments must be received by no later than 12:00 pm on March 17, 2025.

Ministerial Approval

Once the proposed bylaw receives First Reading and Public Hearing, administration will submit the road closure package (including submissions received for the Public Hearing) to the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors for approval.

2nd and 3rd Readings

Once approval of the Minister is received, Town Council may provide 2nd and 3rd Readings for the proposed bylaw. If successful, the bylaw will be approved and submitted to Land Titles for finalization.
